Jonathan Yarlett

Jonathan is Director and co-founder of Purple Cow Media.

He began his career in advertising sales and marketing in 2001 as media buyer and planner at specialist advertising agency, Conrad Advertising. After two years learning about that side of the industry Jonathan crossed over into advertising sales and joined EMP Media as Sales Executive.
It wasn't long before Jonathan's talent and natural flair for sales was recognised and he was soon promoted, first to Team Leader and then to overall Media Sales Manager responsible for all aspects of the business to business side of the operation.

Jonathan's roles included media training, business and product development and account management.

Jonathan was also Project Director of Outsource magazine. He helped develop the title from its early years and was the key Account Manager on the magazine, working with major vendors and suppliers in the outsourcing space on marketing plans and business development strategies.
Jonathan was also responsible for media partnerships with organisations that he still continues to work with today.

In January 2010, Jonathan joined Nigel Winter in launching Purple Cow Media, in the shared belief that there is huge potential for strong, independent titles that speak to senior business strategists.
Jonathan is jointly responsible for all areas of the business, and is Sales Director across the company's range of B2B titles.

Nigel Winter

Nigel is Publishing Director and co-founder of Purple Cow Media.

Nigel has an unrivalled 20-year publishing career in the B2B space, principally as Sales and Business Development director with EMP Media.

During a successful two decades, Nigel was responsible for such titles as Jobfresh, Outsource, Invest in Success, Improve Your Home, and Local Authority, among others, building robust communities between media partners and readers.

Managing 30+ sales staff, Nigel typically brought in nearly two million pounds worth of sales per annum both nationally and internationally in printed and online publications.

Nigel's business acumen is combined with a personal touch that recognises that a strong business is built on people and networks. While at EMP he created longstanding relationships with the Department of Work and Pensions, The NOA, (National Outsourcing Association), IAOP, (International Association of Outsourcing Professionals), UKTI and countless other leading organisations in the local authority, construction, development, recruitment, medical and educational arenas.

That track record has continued since launching Purple Cow Media, as Nigel has swiftly brought onboard a growing and impressive roster of media partners keen to associate themselves with a strong, independent magazine that has a clear direction and voice - the founding principles of this exciting new venture.
