Atos signs authentication framework agreement with London Grid for Learning
The IT service company Atos, has signed a framework agreement with London Grid for Learning (LGfL) for the delivery of secure authentication services to members of the capital's public service network, LondonPSN.
The agreement was signed alongside the launch of Atos' eTHOS Identity Authentication service, which the company says will provide "secure access to local and central government services across the UK", and also builds on the Government's strategy for employee identity management and the Employees Authentication Services trust framework.
Discussing the agreement with Atos, Stephen Fellowes at London Grid said enabling trusted access to data in a consistent, cost effective and secure manner is "of the utmost importance to the boroughs".
He added the organisation believed Atos offered "the most comprehensive and resilient service for London."
"This is an important win for Atos and supports our strategy to grow our business in local government and transactional services," said Iain Kingsley, Senior Vice President, Hi-Tech Transactional Services at Atos. "We will work with the London boroughs to deliver our eTHOS Identity Authentication' service, a new trusted IdP (Identify Provider) that provides secure and convenient employee access to local and central government services, all through a single token."
The Atos identity provider will be tScheme accredited and services will be made available on an output based, per user pricing model.
