Capita acquires BSI and SunGard Public Sector

Outsourcing firm Capita Group made two acquisitions just before Christmas to strengthen its operations in the business travel market and public sector. 

BSI is an agency that manages hotel bookings and meetings. As Capita is already present in corporate travel, the acquisition, for £42.5m, will expand its hotel and conference-room services in particular. 

Its £86m purchase of SunGard Public Sector takes Capita into a new market. The company supplies ICT, radio network services and communication systems to the emergency services, and central and local government. Capita can now offer ICT solutions and outsourced services to the fire, police and ambulance authorities.
