We caught up with Malcolm Simpkin, CIO of Aviva's UK General Insurance division at Marketforce's Operational Efficiency in Financial Services conference to talk about improving operational efficiency, his journey at Aviva, the next steps for operations and IT departments, and changing role of the CIO in driving future business strategy.   Malcolm has a wealth of experience, having worked in IT and Change for over 30 years, including stints as European CIO based in Paris and UK IT Services Director at Aviva. Throughout his leadership he has successfully managed to reduce operating costs without damaging quality of service and delivery. He is currently responsible for IT, change management and shared services at Aviva UK.
