Opportunities for finance and accounting outsourcing to grow in 2011

Global and mid-market businesses say that finance and accounting is a key function that they plan to start outsourcing or increase their current activities in 2011, according to a recent webinar by analyst firms Horses for Sources (HfS) and Equaterra.

The mid market is opening with nearly 25% of HfS research respondents indicating they will start outsourcing finance and accounting in the next 12 months. And within finance, Phil Fersht, CEO at HfS, expects to see greater outsourcing of the risk management and treasury in particular.

Finally, the impact of cloud computing on outsourcing has not left finance and accounting untouched. However, as Fersht said, it is one of the more challenging functions to cloud enable as it will take some time to move ERPs to this environment.
