Xerox signs Maude's memorandum
Xerox UK and Ireland has become one of the so-called tier two suppliers to sign the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Cabinet Office on delivering more efficiently.
Tier two suppliers are those in the next stage down from the 19 biggest government suppliers originally called in to negotiate with Efficiency and Reform Group inside the Cabinet Office.
The company will continue to deliver services within its current framework of government contracts, with its UK and Ireland MD characterizing the deal as showing it wants to continue playing "a central role in the transformation of public services, which make a real difference to the lives of people in the UK every day".
The firm says it values its relationship with the government and is committed to working collaboratively to help transform the way government works by providing enhanced services to UK citizens at a lower cost.
Xerox has been supplying IT and print services to central government for some 35 years and in April was selected as one of the key printing and copier paper suppliers to the public sector under the Buying Solutions framework.
Its customers include the Scottish Police Services Authority, the Department for Work and Pensions and Telford & Wrekin Council.
